Old Friends and New Friends

I'm going to talk about my new friends and new friends here are their names.New: Dezare,Dennae,Elijah,Dominque,and I think thats it.Old friends that I miss:Christian,Miguel,♥KARLA♥,LAURYN.I ALSO MISS OLD CLASS MATES FROM MY OLD SCHOOL UT ELEMENTARY.

Call of Duty Black Ops

Call of Duty Black Ops looks like a good game.When I saw the commercial on TV I knew it was going to be good so I put it on my Christmas list.I'm hoping I get it for Christmas.Well I don't have to guess I forgot that I peaked at my presents and I saw it so now I'm happy.

The Lottery

The Lottery is about these kids who want to go to Harlem Success Academy and they can't even get in it because so many kids want to go.They call themselves success because they push their student to the limit so they can pass.They also push the parents to the limit like for instance if a student is constantly late they will do wake up calls to the parents to make the sure the student is not late.They also have longer school days and longer school years because they're that worried about their students passing.People did a study and they found out that a prison spends more on prisoners than they do students.The average money spent on prisoners is $37,000.The average amount student get is $13,000.The Harlem Success Academy finally had there drawings and only one kid they showed on the movie got into one of the schools.Out of 3,000 people only a couple of kids got in.

What I'm Proud of in Globaloria

What I'm proud of in Globaloria is that I was able to learn different things about  computers.I learned how to upload files to the Wiki.I also learned how to use Flash and how to make shapes,stars,make drop shadows and different stuff like that.I have accomplished learning more advanced things about computers.Now I can do things I never thought I could do before on my laptop.

Homeless

The book that I'm reading is called Homeless.This book is about homeless people and it talks about how homeless people end up on the street.They said it's mostly financial wise and people abusing alcohol and drugs.I don't know what is going to happen next because this is a informational book so I can't tell.

New Schedule

What I think about the new schedule is that its complicated.Its not the way they put the classes in the order ,its just I was already used to the other schedule.I kind of wished that we still had our other one because I miss my friends.But I guess I can manage.

• Imagine and describe one game idea that incorporate your topic into one of these genres.

My game idea is:I would make a racing car and you would have to go around and go to diffrent locations and rescue the animals before they get injured by their owners.You would also have a certain time limit if you dont meet this standard then you will loose and your car will be destroyed.The objective of this game is that you will help the community by destroying all the animal abusers and you will get rakings during the game if you do awesome stuff that I'm not going to tell you because it is a secret.Your rakings will be the same as the U.S. Army.(Ex:Private,Corpral,Captain,etc.)

Imagining your Game

The game I imagine is a racing game about animal abuse.What I would make a racing car and you would have to start on a street and you would go around and you have to go around picking up dogs in a certain time limit.If you reach the limit then you go on to the next level.If you to fail to reach the certain standards then your car will be destroyed and you would have to start that mission over.

Game Genre

The genre I chose was racing.One fact that I learned was that Gran Trak 10 was the first racing game that was ever made.

The book I'm reading

The book I'm reading is called Michael Jackson:Ultimate Music Legend.I chose this book because Michael was inspirational to me and the whole world.I finished the book so I can tell you what the whole book was about,it was about this young boy borned in Gary,Indiana.his name was Michael Joseph Jackson.Later on in the book the Jackson brothers formed a group called the Jackson's and had a record label called Steel town Records.They then moved to Motown.They then called themselves the Jackson 5.A few years later they left Motown and the Jackson's separated.When Michael got older he joined Mowtown for a 25 year celebration where the Jackson's formed together again and began to preform there hits while they were at Motown.After they preformed Michael preformed his latest hit Billie Jean where he introduced the new dance move the moonwalk going backwards smoothly looking like he was walking.That is all I'm going to tell you so I don't ruin the book.

Into the Arms of Strangers

Into the Arms of Strangers is about these old people and they were telling their stories during the Holocaust.They also said how Adolf Hitler first started to take control of Germany and then all the other countries.Adolf Hitler started to burn down synagogues,Jewish stores,and started arresting Jews and sending them to concentration camps.It was very devastating how Adolf Hitler trained his army to be cruel to Jewish people,and how they just treated them like animals.The Jewish people had to send their kids away because they didn't want them to get killed and the Nazis only allowed the kids to take certain amounts of items,they were not allowed to take personal items.The children were allowed to send letters to their parents while they were in their foster homes but England and Germany got in some fight and were at war with each other.So because of this all kinder transports and letters to anywhere out side of England had to stop.Then England made this alarm to warn the whole city that there was about to be a bombing so the children and the adults had to hide and put on gas masks.Then as the war progressed any refugees that were in England were sent to jail.There was this transportation boat called the HMT Dunera that took them to Australia.As this transport was on this journey a Nazi submarine spotted them and fired a torpedo but luckily it clipped the boat and it continued its journey to Australia.Anyone who wanted to move to England had to join the army.

Anne Frank

My thoughts of the movie "The Diary of Anne Frank" was that it was a sad movie.It was hard to see Jewish people having to live in that harsh way.I know I couldn't live in a very small attic like that with about 6-7 people in there.I'm glad that WWII is over and now people have the freedom to do what ever they want.At the end of the movie unfortunately they got caught and were sent to concentration camps everyone died in the camps except Mr.Frank he survived then died of old age.

Minigame Project

My favorite part of the mini game project was being able to make things work how I want them to work.Like you have to put in computer codes in order to make an object move a certain way.My least favorite part was trying to make the carrot go up,down,left,and right.I am waiting to put the code in where if the object goes across the screen it will start counting.

Week of November 1-5

  What we did today is research.We also got to start on a new project.Today was a very interesting day because we got to use Flash.
  What I'm looking forward to learning this week is how to use Flash more better.Flash is complicated but not to where I cant figure out what to do.I like it because its challenging most of the stuff we do in Globaloria is easy because I have a laptop at home and I know what to do.
   What I feel about using Flash is its kind of weird.Its like the Wiki,you have to know computer codes for certain things.Like for instance if you want to have an object to move a certain way you have to have a code like this (carrot._x = 400; ).The successes Ive had this week were using Flash correctly and not falling behind.I also been getting good grades in Globaloria because Ive been finishing my posts and doing my assignments.

What Ive learned this week is how to use Flash.We've been doing Flash all this week

 and were trying to practice making a game so when it comes time to make our own game we'll know what to do.Its fun using Flash because you can make things work how you want them to work.
   This week all we've been doing is using Flash and that's about it.Thank god its Friday the week went by fast because that's what we did (Flash) it was simple grade week.

Most animals get abused by there owners because they like to make money with dog fights or they just there pet is dumb.Most of the time if there is a animal being abuse in a house hold than more than likely there is a child being abused too if they had one.This is because the parents/owners/guardians take out there anger on the dog and the child they just think they're nothing.That's why we have animal shelters for dogs and adoption care for children.Study shows that 70% of animal abusers have at least committed 1 other crime if not more.Sometimes animal abusers would get a note on there door saying to call animal control because they were about to take there pets because of that.All though they think they can just ignore it the animal control would contact the police and if they still wont respond then the police will give he/she a citation then if they're crazy enough and still wont

Week of October 25-29

  The movie Paper Clips is about this one little school in Tennessee and they were collecting paper clips for all the ones who died in the Holocaust.So they started to ask everybody around the world and they got paper clips from famous people like Tom Hanks and Bill Cosby.
   Today we finished watching the Paper Clips movie and it was kind of sad.The children finally fished collecting there paper clips and some one suggested that they get a rail road car that used to transport people to concentration camps.So they did and they found one in Germany and sent it by boat to Baltimore and then on train to Tennessee then by a eighteen wheeler to the school.When they got it they started to put all the paper clips into the car and once they were finished they started giving tours to other students from different schools.
  This week in Globaloria is how not to judge people by what they look like or how they talk or silly things like that.We saw that by one little school could make a whole diffrence in the world.Paper Clip Project Homepage
  Yesterday we were searching for a website that had the paper clips project home page,and we had to make a link to it on our post.We also did a online survey for Globaloria and it was asking us to rate how they were doing as teachers.
  All this week we've been doing research on our game topic.We've been on Brain Pop,Wikipedia,and other websites like that.We've been also doing is Looking at Whitwell's project which is collecting paper clips for all the people who died in the Holocaust.It was emotional for them because they got to see and meet real Holocaust survivers.I think they were inspirational to the people who had family in the Holocaust and one little school could make the whole world change the way we look at people.

Internet Communication

Some ways that computer communication is used is with myspace,facebook,emails,stuff like that.Another way is live computer chat that some people use if they don't have emails and things like that.I think computer communication is important because you can communicate with them and not having to use up your phone minutes.Its also important because some people loose contact with family members and they want to keep in touch with them.

Food Nutirtion

The way food can impact our lives is,well its the thing that keeps us alive.Its important to me because poor or low paying families have to eat cheese burgers because its less money than healthier foods.Poor families were pointing out that you could buy 5 cheeseburgers at McDonald's instead of a head of lettuce for the same amount.I personally think that they should make junk food expensive be cause your choosing between life or death,healthy or un-healthy,but that's just my opinion.

The Dance

Tonight is the dance and I'm kind of excited.I hope the DJ is good because I don't want to be dancing to some wacky music.All of my classmates and friends have someone they are taking and I have to admit I got somebody too.I'm taking.....well maybe I shouldn't say anything I should just keep it a secret.

Reasearch Topic

What topic have you chosen for your research? Why is this topic important to you?

 

The topic that I chose was animal abution.I chose this topic because I have a dog at home and I couldn't imagine seeing him get hurt.I think that animals should have the right to have freedom and not being abused for some dumb reason.The people who do this I think that they should be put away for life because they might come out of jail and abuse animals again.

Blue Gold

What are your thoughts on the film *Blue Gold*? What did you learn from watching the film? Were there any things about water that surprised you?

The movie "Blue Gold" is about this crisis that we have with water.We are using water to much that we are close to having no water at all!I learned by watching this film that we cant be using up all our resources for silly things water is like a god to us and with out it i wouldn't be typing this blog right now.The things that surprised me is how silly people can be (no offense) we built sidewalks and the water cant back into the ground anymore so it cant restore itself so it just goes back into the ocean with all the crud that it has in it.

My Biggest Challenge

What has been your biggest challenge so far in Globaloria? What have you done to overcome it? What other challenges have you faced so far this year?

 

I really didn't have any challenges in Globaloria.Actually I did but it wasn't really a challenge just something I had to work on.I was having trouble with the editing page for my Wiki.Eventually I started to figure out how to work it so I got better at it.The way I overcame it is by practicing at home on my moms laptop.Also,there is no other challenges that I faced this year.

Engaging Science Games is a very cool website.It has challenging games.It also have different topics like aquariums and stuff like that.I would recommend this to any body who's looking for something to do.

Energy Quest

Energy Quest is a very boring website.All it has in it is facts about school and stuff.It doesn't have any games at all.I wouldn't recommend going to it not unless you want to fall asleep!

Water Cycle Link

The water cycle link is basically a website and you press these buttons and things happen.Like "W" is for water shortages."R" is for rain.Well you get the idea you should go there if your really bored.

EPA Climate Change

EPA Climate change is a website that has different games in it like checkers,hangman,and many others.I would recommend this to other people.Well i guess i lied a minute ago if you play checkers it cheats.Like for instance if you jump someone it puts that piece back so you wont jump him back.

My Choice

What I'm  going to go do this weekend is take my step sister out to eat whatever she wants because it's her birthday.Yes i said "I'm going to take her out to eat but I'm not driving."Also I'm going to pay Ive been saving money.There also going to take her to a base ball game but I'm not going because unlike everybody else I'm a RED SOX FAN!

Energy Hog

Energy Hog is a pretty fun game.Its better than all the other games that Ive played.All you are doing is you have to find the main source of energy.When you find it you go into this little mini game and you have to beat up the energy hogs or something like that.

Plant It Green

Plant it green is boring all you have to do is make this little town green.I didn't know what to do so i just destroyed all the buildings.I wouldn't recommend this to any body.Even if you like boring games you would fall asleep!

Flex your power trivia game

Flex your power trivia game is just a trivia game.It has levels but its boring.I mean if you like trivia games well than go ahead and play it.I'm not much of a trivia game guy so that's why i don't really like it.

The Great Green Web Game

The Great Green Web Game is a boring game but it teaches you things.Like for instance it teaches you how to take care of the Earth.It's just basically a board game.I wouldn't recommend playing it not unless your really into playing boring games.

Energy Ville

Energy Ville is a boring game because there is only 2 levels than its over.The reason I don't like it is because there is no concept to it.There is no main reason for what your supposed to do.I think they need to fix that game because that is one short boring game.

Important Documentary

The most important documentary was Food Inc. because I felt bad for that little kids parents because he died from this disease called E Collie.The way that cows get E Collie is when farmers feed there cows corn and they can prevent that by feeding them grass but they just don't want to.The reason for that is because corn lasts longer and more and more people are starting to eat meat and they want it fatter so they give them corn to satisfy the costumers.The way that you could help to prevent that is by going to buy groceries at your local farmers market.

Dirt the Movie

Dirt the Movie was about people talking about how dirt is important to us.Like for instance dirt grows plants and we eat the plants and animals eat the plants then we eat the animals.Its a cycle.Dirt was a pretty good movie it was boring though.Dirt the movie was similar to Food Inc. because it was talking about poor countries not being able to purchase food and that was similar with both movies and they both also talked about how if we use up to many resources than we will not be able to survive.I personally think that Food Inc. was better because Dirt the movie was basically talking about dirt.

My Weekend

What I'm going to do this weekend is....actually i don't know what I'm going to do.I think my family is going to go see a movie.My brother has a game tomorrow.I also have to go to the Service Learning Project.On Sunday I have base ball practice and thats it.Thats my weekend.

Food Inc.

What do you remember most from the film *Food, Inc*.? Please explain some of your thoughts about the movie.

What I thought of the movie Food Inc. was that farmers dont grow there cows and pigs the right way like they feed cows corn so they could grow faster and they could store corn for long amounts of time.They also showed some ways they kill the animals like they pigs get squished,they hang cow and cut there throat,and the chickens they put them in this metal cone and cut there throats.I also learned that farmers used to feed there cows grass then there was this deadly disease and the only way they could prevent that is to feed them grass and there was this kid that died from just eating a hamburger and he died when he was only 2 1/2 years old and the company didnt even say sorry now the little boys mom is helping to make sure that other little kids dont get it by bringing it up to the goverment.You know some of the meat products say there natural there not theres bad stuff like high fructose corn syrup and other stuff like that the place you can get organic stuff is farmers markets.

Back to School Night

Tonight is back to school night. What is one thing you have learned or accomplished this year that you would like to share with your family? Please explain. It does not have to be something from this class.

 

One thing I've learned in Globaloria is how to add links to Blogger and to the school Wiki.I also learned how to customize my Wiki and Blogger so I can make it look really cool.In P.E. we learned how to play this game called handball and its like a combination between soccer and basketball.Its a really fun game my favorite position is the goalie because i kept on blocking the ball.

My boring weekend

What I'm going to do on the weekend is nothing really all I have is a doctors appointment to go to and that's about it.I'm just probably going to play games,and sleep.Oh yeah I forgot I'm going to go see my cousins football game hes on the Del Valle Cardinals and I think hes going against the rebels.That's pretty much how my weekends going to be.

Social Issue (2nd)

What have you learned about social issues so far this week? Please share some of your thoughts.

 

The things I learned with social issues is that some people want to grow up to quickly and they already want to be teen moms and dads.Also some kids and even adults pick the bad thing by doing drugs just so they dont feel left out or they think they need to fill in some hole because they lost a loved one or something.Which also brings me to my next point that people want to join gangs just to act tough or they want represent something.Usually people dont think of something before they do it and thats how it leads to crimes and things like that.

Least Effective Learning Game

The least effective learning game is Climate Challenge.This game explores the goverment in Europe and your the president of Europe and you have to control there goverment,pollution,and trying to make citizens happy so you can stay in office.If anyone would like to play this game it is under the game genre stradegy and and I kind of like it because you have to use the old cabeza in order to play it.It kind of illistrates what you need to do but for someone who hasent played it there are going to have a hard time trying to figure it out.What I think they need to change about the game is to make it less boring because all you deal with is the economy.What I want to do on my game is make it about real life situations,make it a card game,and make it more better than this game.

Most Effective Learning Game

The most effective learning game is Gravitee.It helps you learn because you have to use measurement and distance.If you ever want to play it would be under the genre sports.It is a very good game because its educational,fun,and has good graphics.Its also a good game because it clearly states what the player needs to do which is to make it through the ring,its basically space golf and you have to measure distance with little gravity.I really don't think theres nothing to change about the game it is a very good game.The things I would like to do that's kind of the same of this game is the good graphics,how to make the game fun and educational at the same time,and not make it look like a little kid game.

Social Issue Prompt

A social issue is something that affects many people at one time. What are some social issues that are important to you? Why are they important?

 

One social issue that affects people is global warming.Another scocial issue is the economy because people are having to move out of there homes because they dont have any money.Theres one social issue thats affecting teenagers because they are becoming teen moms and dads.The other scocial issue thats affecting teens is peer presure like drugs or gangs.

My weekend

This weekend I'm probably just going to hang out at home play with my chihuahua,play games or do something.Oh yeah I forgot I have a baseball game this weekend.My little brother has one to and on top of that he has a football game on the same day.So really I'm going to have a busy weekend!

My favorite game genre is action and sports.I like those two genres because there very fun and challenging.My favorite sports game is gravitee.My favorite action game is zeitgeist (not really i couldnt find anyother game).

My favorite game is Call of Duty modern Warfare 2 because you can play against eachother online or multiplayer.When you are playing against eachother there is a thing called create a class and you can design your on class by making your wepons more advanced and having things to make you a better player and soldier.when your playing against eachother just like in the army you get rankings,you start as a private and move your way on up from there and i think the highest you can get is a five star general.Right now I am a second lt. and every time you rank up you get more wepons and more eqipment.

THE BOSTON REDSOX

The Boston RedSox are a baseball team for people that dont know.personaly I think they are a great team.They have good players,managers,and fans.My favorite player is #34 David Ortiz.David Ortiz is the DH for the RedSox he currently has 27 home runs he finally broke his record of 25!!!

An incovinient truth

The movie An Inconvinient Truth talks about about global warming and how it harms the Earth.It also talked about if we dont act now and keep on procrastinating then the whole Eath will become one big swimming pool.I think we should learn from our mistakes and react ASAP!

First Week

My first week at EACPA was long.Even though it was a long tyring week I was glad to see my friends.I thought the teachers were kind of cool & the lunches were ok or at least better than my old schools lunch.My favorite subject is science.I'm looking foward to having a good year at EACPA.
